Does anyone have a tutorials on how to cover the peppermint patties? I have seen some where there is just a circle on the top and bottom and I'm looking for something like that, I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for your help,
Danielle
You can do a gallery search which is what I did HERE, which will show you many different ideas for the peppermint patties. I don't know that there is an actual tutorial.
The only problem, though, is that York peppermint patties have recently changed their packaging so if you want the round ones, you'll need to use a different brand. I haven't seen any new ideas posted (not to say there aren't any) with York's pillow-type cellophane packaging.
Anybody out there with ideas for York's new packaging?

Thanks there are some cute ideas there. Did you just use a circle punch and tape it to the front and back? I was trying to get an idea of how to do these and I wanted to make them bigger and use them on little debbie's. Like the oatmeal cookies, but I wasn't sure where to start.
Thanks for you help,
Danielle
You just use double-stick tape to stick your shape (whether you've used a circle punch, a Nestabilities scalloped circle or whatever) to the fronts and backs of your "mint"--however big it is.

I just have to share that I was at Costco here in Calgary today and bought a jar of 240 peppermint patties (not York, sorry, can't remember brand) for about $11. I was so excited! I thought my days of fast and easy candy gifts were over once I saw York's new packaging. Maybe some other crafters will be able to find them too.
Now... do I share them or can I really use 240 this season? Hmm. They may just end up going to waist!
Someone in my local BJ's opened up a box, and I noticed it was the new style. But, even if your BJ's does have the old style currently, it is likely just until their supply is exhausted.

I bought a jar of 240 Pearson's peppermint patties at a Costco store in Colorado for $9.19 last week! Check your local Costco if you are looking for them.
You know, I really love the York patties, they're really the best of the bunch. And I'm absolutely not above unwrapping the "pillow" and taking foil squares from the cake & candy supply store, and wrapping them the old way, then decorating. I'm stubborn, and if I have to, I'll make what's available work. I loved the decorated punches thing with the peppermint patties.
Well, I checked all my usual haunts today, and they've all totally converted to the new patty packaging. I guess I have to convert to Pearson's.....Hershey's loss! (unless any of you have very recently found some still in the old packaging........SPILL IT!) I need 50more for some communion favors.
Bulk Barn here in Brockville has a different brand of pattie but they are wrapped the old way. Maybe other Bulk Barns would have them as well. Hershey's closed the plant near here and put alot of folks out of jobs so I have no problem not buying Yorks even though they were great. And I still buy the nuggets because I need them for nugget boxes.
