*** SEE POST #32 FOR FAUX SHAVING CREAM INSTRUCTIONS ***
Just got back from Jaron's technique class. It was awesome!
We stamed BGs on chipboard letters, did the kissing technique with one of those stamp sets that they made for just that (sorry -- name escapes me). We did, get this, FAUX shaving cream! Very cool. We used the stipple brushes on the Headline alpha to very cool effect, and we did a collage technique.
As always, he is very talented and SO funny. His projects were lovely!

I absolutely LOVE that man! He is a riot! I am definitely missing everything this year! Thanks for the reports, it makes me feel a little better, even though I couldn't go!
Now, please spill on the Faux shaving cream and stipple brushes on the alpha techniques when you get a chance...
after swapping and dancing and stampin' and making friends and....(sigh!)

Melissa,
Now I really can't wait to get to convention. I am signed up for Jaren's Technique class on Day 1 of Second Session. I met him at the Louisville, Kentucky Regionals. He is the greatest! Really looking forward to the new techniques. Thanks for sharing your experience.

OK, not a demo YET, but patiently waiting for my BF and Demo to get back from convention to discuss it. BUT, all this talk of all the cutie patootie men demo stamping tech left and right at convention, from a spencer to a jaron to oh someone else I forget his name but I believe he sings. OH MY!!! :???: I don't know one man that stamps much less sings and stamps and does it in front of women......ohhhhhh I must become a demo, there's no place like convention.....there's no place like convention......(wishing I had ruby slippers right now instead of flip flops!):o

Chickadee - Even if you miss Convention, Regionals are so much fun!
It is worth it to sign as a Demo just for the discount. The kit price is awesome compared to "retail" and my best and closest friends have come from my affiliation with SU!
Sorry to hijack the thread....
Jaron is amazing. He won me over at last year's Convention, and then we were LUCKY enough to have him at the Louisville Regional. I adore him!!!!!! Cute, funny and just a hoot. Something about men with stamps....
And he is in the new catty! Page 41. Could he have a more adorable wife and kids?
I don't know who hired Jaron, but they deserve a raise. That guy inspires me. Period.

Oh Lori, I wish I had ruby slippers as well. Only problem for me is I'm not a demo. And I don't know anyone from my area who is a demo who went to convention. Darn anyway. This is one major reason I am contemplating signing up to become one.

Well at least there is SCS, you can hear all about it from all these amazing women on here. Does that help?;)

I would love you to send me the details of these techniques but have no idea how to pm you. I have tried several ways but ... maybe I am dense.
Waiting for any more info you can send our way.
Thanks for taking the time to tease!
We're up to 65 PMs. LOL Please do not email me asking for it -- PM instead. My email box is small and I use it for customers primarily. Thanks!
Melissa-
I pm'd ya early, and only once. You don't know how much restraint that took, I am NOT a patient person, lol! Aren't you glad you let everyone know about this? Hope you are having a wonderful time. You are too kind for letting us all know about this. Kristi

Hi Sandy,
I grew up in Spokane!!! I lived there for 13 years. What part of the city do you live in? I lived on the north side and graduated from Shadle om '78 (I'm old!). I still have lots of relatives living there. Have you done a "Find a Demonstrator" on the SU website? I bet you could find one, or one that knows one that went to convention.
So true!! Jarens Technique class was the best...I had his class on the third day and it was fantastic! he is so cute and creative...and a hoot to boot!! hehe

Have any of you girls that went to Convention done this technique yet? I am a visual person and really need to see what it should look like. LOL If you have done it, could you post a picture?
Thanks!!!!!

I kiss with wheels all the time. So, is this "kissing gone wrong", meaning he discovered it looked like a shaving cream background when he messed up his kiss?

Yes -- you should not see the pattern of the wheel.
sahm-i-am - if we ever get together, I could show it to you and what we did at convention during this techniques session. Think I gave you my phone number. Call me!

I think "kissing gone wrong" is a much catchier title than "faux stamping"...lol. I could get alot of mileage from that title at workshops!!
Any photos anyone??

Any time after tomorrow night. I have been up to my eyeballs organizing my retiring stuff, retired samples, retired accessories, retired supplies...I'm about "retired" out! I'm also organizing new catalog show offs, new samples, new class project samples, new specials, a dinner for 25 and make and takes. Why you ask? It's my annual Customer Appreciation Night! It's not as bad as I make it sound! I don't cook unless I have to so one of my downline is doing all the food for me! She's a personal chef in her other life! Lucky for me.
I will call you next week....

This is in fact "kissing gone wrong". He said he was trying to kiss the stamp with the wheel and it slipped. For some reason he stamped the image anyway and liked the look he got, so "Jaron's faux shaving cream technique" was born!
