If the hand sanitizer itself costs $1 or $1.50 (depending on if it is on sale) how much would you charge?

For those of you that make these and sell at craft shows, have you run into any problems selling them with the B&B sanitizers? Not sure what is allowed and not allowed when it comes to reselling an item.

Hi Chris,
My sport themed boards sold the best last weekend. I had soccer, baseball, football and basketball. I had one lady ask me for a hockey theme, but since I'm not into hockey, I didn't even think about it.

Stacy, I liked the way you used the yard sale items and your tags....I wish I'd gone to some yard sales

JenAndrews, love your card rack and your cards! So beautiful!

Chris, if you're looking for examples of magnetic boards here are some I made: Ribbons, etc.: More craft fair stuff…. Each has a decorated clothespin and an embellished magnet. Since they're coordinated with the background paper, they might be hard to see.

Love your display. I'm heading out to both Target & BJ's after work to see if I can find some similar tiered baskets. It would be perfect for what I display. Thanks so much for sharing.

I am getting ready to start making the M&M sticks for the first time. Can someone point me to some examples of Christmas ones that have been done? Also, what do you use to tie them at the top?

I know this is probably somewhere on this thread but I just can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

I got mine at Menards in the roofing section. They come in a bag of 10.

I haven't made any Christmas ones yet but will be working on them here soon. I bought some clear elastic hair ties from Walmart so after I seal the bag I tie them off with the hair ties and then add a ribbon with tag attached!

Is this how you make them?
Printing the calendars on standard printer paper, cutting them to size, and using brads to adhere them as a tearaway calendar?? with decorations/ribbon, etc.
Thanks for sharing this calendar download! I made some last year and I punched two holes at the top (left and right) and inserted mini brads...then used the red line sticky tape to adhere the whole set of 12 pages to the coaster. Still holding up fine. I also altered a binder clip and used it as the frame to hold it. I slid the front of the binder clip between November and December.

These are GREAT! And it made me think of a similar metal stand that I found at Goodwill. It has two tiers and I'm currently using it in my kitchen to hold fruit. I may just have to give it a new purpose come craft fair time! Thanks for the ideas, ladies!

Make sure it is GALVANIZED flashing. Aluminum flashing is not magnetic. Learned that one the hard (and expensive) way.

Galvanized is very hard to find in certain areas of the country. I had to mail order mine through Lowe's, and had to take the whole box of 50 sheets.

Just a quick hint when it comes to the flashing...Take your magnets with you. If you find something that will work for a magnet board...doesn't have to be flashing...then I say...alter it.

Right now I'm working on some baking sheets for the toaster oven that I found at the dollar store. When I have some time I'll finish them. This weekend I'm working the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA...and I'm hoping to do a craft fair the following weekend (waiting to hear if they have booth space)...so I'm going to try and finish them sometime inbetween...ha...I'll let you know how that works out for me.

In the meantime...have magnets when you go to the hardware/dollar/thrift store...and maybe you'll find something that you can use as a magnet board. Hope this was at least somewhat helpful.

Very cool Alicia! I loved your calendars. They are simple and pretty.
When I did a google search, your calendar came up on the first page.

Another good site someone forwarded to me today.
It has downloadable items to make a Holiday Planner altered book, and a tutorial.

You need to score the metal (a lot) and then snap it off. Make sure you use a good utility knife and sturdy straight edge when making the scores. The edges are going to be VERY sharp, so be careful and wear gloves.

I have decided that I need to change things up a bit this year, so will be working on a mock up next week. Will post some pix when I get a good idea of what I am changing!

Default added photos

I've added photos from last Saturday's Craft Fair at a local high school to my gallery.
Lots of lookers, not too many buyers. This was the consensus throughout the fair. I've participated in this fair for a few years and it seems to be losing it's appeal. Not sure if I'll do it next year.

tat2girl - great photos on your recent craft fair. I also love those rulers. What a great idea! My sis has to do some crafts with her daughter's girl scout troop. This looks like a good one for that.

Absolutely!! I'm doing cookie tins right now as calendar/message boards. Bought thirty of the tins at the dollar store and the cashier thought I was insane! (Til I told her what they were for...and she thought the idea was great.)

I haven't made magnet boards in a couple of years, but when I was making them I used the round burner covers for stoves. I found them two for a dollar at the dollar store. They come in two different sizes, for the large and small burners, and the sides were already painted so I just worked with that and covered the round part with patterned paper. Then I punched a couple of holes in the lip at the top and was able to secure my ribbon with a couple of knots at the bottom underneath that lip. They sold really well. I should give them another shot. I've also made the cookie sheet magnetic board. I have one of those in my gallery.

The round ones sound like a GREAT idea! That would certainly be something different for around here. Haven't seen that anywhere. I have more than enough "stuff" for this year but I'm going to store that idea away for next year. TFS.

Great idea using the round burner covers! Then I could actually use my circle scissors plus instead of just looking at it still in it's original package. lol Anyone else like this?

Wow - so much great info and inspiration in this thread!!

A few pages back people were talking about how to raise your tables a bit higher, and one excellent idea was to use short sections of PVC pipe. Please remember if you do this, that the dust created when you cut the pipe may be carcinogenic, so if you have a dust mask around, probably best to wear it!!

RE: reselling the B&BW products - perfectly ok to resell anything that you have purchased like that. The law says that if you bought it, you now own it, so you have the right to sell it if you want. So long as you don't claim to be an authorized dealer, or use their advertising, things like that.

And yes, pinching an image from online somewhere of a licensced character and then using that in a craft that you sell is copyright infringement and therefore illegal (not that you are likely to get carted off to jail or anything, but technically, it's stealing, like pirating CDs or whatever). However, if you purchase stamps, stickers or fabric with the licensced characters, and use them to make something to sell, the above principle applies - you bought it, so it is legal for you to use... so long as you don't say the item you have made is a licensced product of the blah-blah company, or try to make it part of your company logo. The companies don't really like people making stuff for resale, but apparently there have been court cases where the giant corporations lost to the little people over this. They can't tell you what to do or not do with their products once you have purchased them.

Lots of lookers, not too many buyers. This was the consensus throughout the fair. I've participated in this fair for a few years and it seems to be losing it's appeal. Not sure if I'll do it next year.
I love the rulers! So cute! does anyone have instructions for making them that they would share? Thanks!

I am having trouble finding magnets small and strong enough for the small clothespins on the magnetic boards. Any ideas?

This is where I get mine: Almost Free Magnets items - Get great deals on Dymo Compatible Labels, Neodymium BULK listings items on eBay Stores!

They are super strong so I have to use the E6000 for the adhesive - it's very stinky but works!

The cat is out of the bag! I've been trying to keep the lovely Monica all to myself, but her talent is just too good to not share.

Here's the YouTube video on how to make them:
YouTube - Pretty rulers decorated with Stampin'Up! designer paper
I totally dig her music on her videos and her accent is so cute!

And Monica's uber, uber talented, cool blog:
My many many passions

The glue she refers to in the video is the same as our modge podge. I used the matte finish for my rulers. I also used the 12" rulers - she uses 6" rulers with one hole. I could not find them on the web for an affordable price, so I snapped up the clear ones at Target during the back to school sales.

Have fun making them and check out her blog, she has some truly amazing projects!
