I looked through previous post to find this answer but couldn't, but anyway, Is it necessary to have "white" candles when doing the tissue paper tech. Does any color candle work with white tissue paper, or will the tissue paper show more with colored candles. ie off white
Hey Jennifer, Due to the fact that most colored candles are white in the core it can be difficult to heat them to the right temp without melting through the "color" layer that is over the white core...one thing you can do though is sponge the entire tissue you are going to use and then stamp the images and apply to a white candle thereby getting the desired effect!
I just stamped on a verigated orange/yellow candle - it turned out great. If you email me directly - I'll send you a picture of a candle gift set I just donated.
Jennifer - I have done the candles using Vanilla or Off white and they turned out just fine. I thought that I was getting a great deal at Target last week (20 votives for $3.99) -- bought them and once I got them home and opened the package the candles were about 1/2 the size of a regular votive. But, I just used a smaller stamp and they looked OK. So, I guess in answer to your question --- Off White candles stamp the same as white (at least they did for me).
