It's so hard for a mere mortal like me to aspire to be as great a stamper and artist as you... but I'm doing my best! LOL!
Seriously though, when you sanded the Real Red paper in one of your journals/books, exactly how many days did it take to get it to look so good? And what did you use? Your DHs sanding maching?
I've sanded & sanded & sanded.. all I have to show for it is a piece of Real Red cardstock that's a little ugly and red lungs
Marcia - Debbiedee sent me a great accordian book using Love Without End, and she used the colored paper to cover the matboard, and sanded it. That is MUCH easier to sand, and since it is not colored all the way through, you get that GREAT distressed look. PLUS it is WAY easier to wrap paper around matboard than cardstock!
May be totally off kilter here, but that won't be the first time. . .
Sutnheart! I here to the rescue. I think you probably should have asked Debbiedee though. She was the one who put us all onto the sanding. The real trick is to have the right paper. Look at page 214 of your SU catty. At the bottom you will see Solid Color Papers listed. This is really want you need to sand it and get the right look. It actually has a white base on it and when you sand, that is what will give you the look! I used a SU sanding block (page 217, item b ) too. You have to be careful not to sand too much right, Debbiedee?!
I see Jenn gave me 6 minutes to reply and then posted the answer herself! LOL! I was actually stamping some swap cards for convention! Wooohooo! Busy day here!

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie! I love this journal and did not catch that it was made with that solid colored paper. Good thing I checked before sanding longer than 5 minutes! Ha! I also had only 1 scrap to test this on, so I think I'll see what happens with some bleach.
No, no, no! I'm with Beate! No more convention talk! I'm putting on my rose-colored glasses now and pretending that everything is the same! Nothing is changing and no one is leaving! Haha!

I am due to have a baby the week of convention so I am not going to be able to be there either...and the bummer part is that I only live six hours from Orlando, easy days drive! My parents live in Deltona which is just 30 miles from convention!!!!! So anyway, bring all the good news back and get some great ideas to share with us...can you keep your eye open for some GREAT baby announcements for me? Thanks
