Default When making the coasters, do you have to use StazOn?

Why can't you just use a Classic Ink Pad? I'm going to try and pick up some tiles tonight so I can try this technique tomorrow....but I don't have StazOn.
Thanks!

because the classic ink is water soluable and would therefore come off the tumbled tile - you need a permanent type ink in order to do tiles. At least black Staz-on - you can color in using chalk, pencils (have to seal both) or sharpies or some other type of permanent marker...

However if you look at this post
Forums at Splitcoaststampers

this person did use classic ink on tumbled tiles and really sealed it...

Make sure you get tumbled tiles and not ceramic tiles

You can use Staz-On or Craft, not Classic. You can try it but you won't be happy with the results. I mistakenly grabbed a Classic pad instead of Craft, stamped it and thought what the h@ll. Then I figured it out!

I had heard that you can use Classic ink, but must bake them to seal it (or spray with an appropriate sealant, but then when glasses "sweat" the tile will not abosrb the liquid making for a wet mess).
Has anyone baked their coasters? If so, how? (Temperature, time, etc.)
How did you like the results?

I do my tiles with Staz-on and bake them to help heat set the ink into the tile. i usually bake anywhere from 300-350 for about 10-15 minutes...no "set" temp or time...

I would think with classic ink being water soluable heating it would do somehting funky to it - either make it fade (from the ink evaporating due to the heat or change the colors...
