Default What envelopes do I use for handmade cards??

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm relatively new to cardmaking and never sold any before. I am going to do a craft show on Nov. 1st. I plan on selling some handmade cards. What do you do when you have extremely bulky or extra large cards? Do I have to make envelopes myself or is there somewhere I can purchase extra big envelopes? If I can avoid making them, I would prefer it unless I can get an easy template for big envelopes! Can someone help me please??! I would appreciate any input. Thanks. Melissa

The size is A2, you can get them for a good price at http://www.anchorpaper.com/retail/
You can also get them at any office supply store, they're often called invitation envelopes.

Melissa1872 was correct in stating that the A2 invitation envelopes work for quarter page size cards. However, you can buy envelopes in half-page size also at Staples. Square envies can be purchased from SU along with some other sizes. Check out their catalog on the SU website for size details. Hope that helps.

P.S., no question is ever "stupid"! We all had to start somewhere, you know. We weren't born knowing all this stuff! :-D Any time you have a question, please don't hesitate to ask SCS members. Somebody out there will probably have the answer.

I was trying to find a template or made envelopes that are 4 1/2 inches square. I made a bunch of fancy fold cards that size. They sell that size envelope for fresh cuts notes but not otherwize. I went through my envelope templates and theree aren't any that size either.

It's definitely not a stupid question!

I get several sizes of envelopes for home made cards at Paper Zone. They have the A2 size as well as some larger ones and also square envelopes. If you don't have a Paper Zone store in your area, here is the website.

Keep in mind that postage is higher for square cards than it is for rectangles.
However to answer your question, Kreate-A-Lope makes templates for square envies. I think they have a 4 x 4 and a 6 x 6

For large or odd shape cards I usually make my own. I don't use any fancy tools or gadgets and it only takes less than a minute to make.

Here are the instructions: Easy Envelopes

You can have an envie for virtually any card in a matter of seconds with little or no cutting involved!

I've purchased envelopes of different sizes at clearenvelopes.com and been very happy with them. I also get clear plastic sleeves there to slip the cards into. I love it when people can look at the cards without damaging them at all, but it also makes them look so neat and professional. Many of those clear sleeves are also approved by USPS for use as envelopes all by themselves which could be kind of fun!
