Warhol?

I just saw some cards done with the "warhol" technique. What exactly makes it warhol & what does warhol mean?

"Warhol" refers to Andy Warhol. The technique is a take-off of a technique used in one of his paintings

Thanks---I'm quite unculturally educated! Or culturally uneducated! I just did a search. I'd heard his name before, but never knew who he was. He was, um, interesting!
