Default punching circles in cards

i know one of you has an idea about this!

i am trying to make a circle about 3" from the edge of my cardstock. needless to say my punch will not go that far into the paper.

does anyone has suggestions on how to do this? i have the cm punches and templates but the hole i need has to have an opening of about 1 5/8 inches. i am trying to make these candy holders.

these are found on the site www.morningstarstamps.com if my attachment didn't work..lol

thank you for any ideas

All I can suggest is to fold your paper in half and punch half your circle on the fold before you glue the whole package together. Does this make sense? (It does to me ... LOL!)

I just purchased 6 different Colluzle's. I was pretty scared to try them because I had heard lots of people say they had a hard time using them. Well I think they are great! I've had great luck. Now I can cut lots of shapes, in many sizes, where ever I want!

For the circle, I would use either my Fiskars circle cutter or a circle template and an Exacto knife... Ditto the template and Exacto knife for the heart (or any other shape).

Is there maybe a way that you could make the holder in two pieces that glue together on the bottom so you would have a shorter distance from an edge to get your punch where you want it?
Just my 2 cents...

I have the Creative Memories circle and oval cutters and they cut perfectly anywhere anytime.
