Using lace and brayer for a background?

Saw a really beatiful card a while back in a stamp store and the lady said that they had used lace and a brayer to make the BG. Does anyone know how to do this? Do I just stick a piece of lace down and then brayer over it? I think that I needed to use sticky paper as well (the bg had glitter) but can't remember now!!! Help please!!:p

Perhaps you might try the Tsukineko Tack'N'Peel. I've seen it used on brayers before.
Hope this helps.:)

lace bg

I know, I know! use the sticky side of sticky paper, then put glitter on, or, you may also use emboss powders. You can use different colors, just knock off each so that they don't get all mixed up. Use your brayer to "set". THEN, pull off the lace carefully, and use another glitter, such as dazzling diamond. The result is breathtaking. Try using emboss powders the same way, and emboss when done with the powders. This works really well, too.

lace bg

just a side note: I purchase a box of full sheet size shipping labels (8.5 x 11) from Staples or Office Depot--they work really well. Cut the size you need for your background, expose the sticky side, lay your lace piece onto this, then apply your glitter or EP. I like to use the little spoons I saved from a Tastefully Simple party, and spread w/those, applying pressure. Have fun! They are pretty simple to make, but can be a bit messy! let me know how it turns out for you. ~Jen

Here is a picture and instructions for the glitter lace card. I've never done it but I've watched a demo at a rubber stamp convention about 4 years ago. It truly is beautiful!

Thanks for posting this. I love lace and I saved all my Mom had when we cleaned out her house. Now I have a good use for it.
