Default Stamping on a Cermic Vase?

I went to a ceramics class and am making a vase....I got to thinking, after I have the background coat of paint on it, could I stamp on it?

Does anyone know? And if so, do I use regular SU ink, craft ink,or versamark?

Ideas welcome!

Great question. I think if you haven't glazed it yet, it would be a lot like stamping on tumbled tiles because they are still porous. Would you use glaze after you stamp on it?

Have you checked with the ceramics place? The one that we go to has foam stamps that you just paintbrush the special ceramic paints onto, then stamp the item. You could maybe do that with your rubber stamps if you rinse them off right away. I'm not sure how regular inks would stand up to the firing process. The kiln just might burn them off.
