Default pastel techniques....

Hi,
Other than popping pastels, pastel embossing and watercoloring with pastels using a blender pen and pulling pastels, what other techniques use pastels?

Thanks for the help, doing a pastel class tomorrow.

Kerri

Kerri - don't forget the chalkboard technique.

Works best with the two-step stamps that have an outline and a filler, but you can use any bold-type (not outline) image.

Stamp the filler image with white craft (pigment) ink on black cardstock and while the ink is still wet, apply pastels over it. It works best to kind of "pounce" them on instead of rubbing them on, so as not to smear the ink. The pastels will be very vibrant.

Then stamp the outline stamp, in either chalk ink or craft ink. It looks like you drew on a chalkboard.

Here are links to a couple of samples:
brown chalkboard by tx stamper at Splitcoaststampers
Crazymama With Gratitude Chalkboard by CrazyMamaStamper at Splitcoaststampers
Autumn Chalk by Lala at Splitcoaststampers
Chalkboard TMDMom by TMDMom at Splitcoaststampers
Stem Silohettes Chalkboard by danibmom at Splitcoaststampers

Some of these do use outline-type stamps only and they're still gorgeous!

I don't think white stazon would work. The reason the white craft works is because it stays wet so the chalk sticks to it.
