Default Trouble Painting Clipboard

I'm having trouble painting a clip board.

The paint isn't covering the clipboard. You can see the brown through my apricot paint and it is leaving streaks!!! I am using Apple brand Acrylic Paint (.69 at Mikes) that may be the problem. I have covered the clipboard with three generous coats of this paint and the last two don't seem to be 'sticking' to the other coats. The clipboard says eldon on the clip and the back says "A division of Newell Rubbermaid".

Does anyone have some tips that you could share with me.

you might want to start with a white primer and if the paint you are using has some gloss then you should sand it lightly between coats.
don'tca hate it when the 'plan' doesn't work:twisted:
