Trivets?
I have been amking coasters for awhile is there anything I need to know that pertains to making a trivet from a tile? I stamp with stazon, color with sharpies, bake and seal. Should I seal more or with something other than Krylon Matte Sealer? Thanks! You girls are the best!

Ahh! I have been making coasters, not amaking. Sorry! I cannot type today!

I'd be interested in an answer for this as well!

I need to know how to make these tile trivets as well?
|
I did a trivet for a Chirstmas gift. I used the E 6000 glue and glued 4 small tiles together on a large round cork (kitchen area at Kmart target etc). I did not use anything special to seal it. I used the acrylic sealer like usual. I am sure my Step-Mom would mention if there was a problem. Haven't heard of anything yet.

trivet - help!!
 I made a few trivets, stamped them baked them then sealed them with the Krylon sealer, gave one of them to my mom she put a hot pot on it and the pot stuck to the trivet! Anyone one else having this problem? Should I not use the sealer?? Help!
Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions. |
I have noticed that the Krylon doesn't hold up really well to extremely hot things. DBF put a coffee pot on one and it completely destroyed it....so I'm thinking extreme hot (like pots and such) shouldnt go on them....

I made a bunch of these at Christmas and used glass paints with stazon rather than sharpies and sealer. You let the glass paint dry for 24 hours and then bake for about 30 minutes. I've put things on it straight from the oven and no problem.

I finally got around to making two of these tonight. I used stazon, sharpies, and baked. Now, I am afraid to use sealer. What do you think would happen if I used polyurthene? I use it on wood projects I make, and it is even washable. I should go read the can. I will let you know what I find out. I hope they don't get ruined; I love how they came out.

Ok, no poly on ceramic or marble. I checked the can. Any ideas for what to seal with to withstand heat?
