Trifold Card

I'm looking for the measurements of a trifold card.
Can someone help me with this?

Thanks

I have never checked-out a purchased tri-fold card... but I really think it can be whatever size you wish :)

These are the two sizes I most often create:

My favorite is made from a 12" x 12" sheet of cardstock.. which makes two tri-fold cards... and fits in a regular size card enevelope.

Cut the cardstock to measure 5 1/2" by 12" ... so you get two cards.... plus a 1" x 12" strip left for later use. Score your card at 4" and 8" ... fold the right side in towards the center first and crease... Now fold the left side over the top and crease... You now have a tri-fold card that fits in a standard envelope :)

The other way is to use 8 1/2" by 11" cardstock... or cut the 12" x 12" to this size.. and score at 3-2/3" and 7-1/3". Fold as above... and it fits in a business size envelope.

Either card can be made folding as above \__/ ... or done in an accordian fold \/\ ... depending on how you wish to stamp/decorate.

Once in the while.. If I have an unusual size envelope that I want to use... I simply measure my envelope... deduct 1/4" from both the length and the width... and create a card to fit.

Hope this helps just a little.

Hi guys,

Thought I'd jump in here and add my 2 cents (if it's worth THAT much ;)). I teach classes in Iris Folding and I often make trifold cards. I take a 12 x 12 piece of CS and cut it in half. I then fold in 4 inches from either end so the final card (once folded) is 6x3 inches. This just happens to be the perfect size for the Coluzzle envie template (2nd largest size).

Thanks for the great instructions above. Any new ways to make cards...

Have a great day!

Thanks, ladies. I'll print this off when I get home. I usually just use the WAG method, but it would be nice to have measurements for consistency.

DJ, I miss my Mom, too.
