Newbie: How do you do emboss resist?

Hello,

A newbie to SCS- just joined last night. I am an experienced scrapper but newer to SU! Can anyone tell me how to do the emboss resist technique where color appears to be around white embossing. I have some ideas for Christmas cards.

I tried searching before I posted but must have done something wrong. I just found Arelene Bridges posts.

All you do is stamp your image in Versamark on either glossy CS or a really light colored CS and emboss with clear EP. Then, take a sponge or dauber and appy ink around the image. The image stays the color of the CS and the surrounding areas are the new color.

Crayon resist is fun, too! All you do is stamp random images on glossy CS in black (I guess other dark colors would work, too!) and then use a white crayon to shade in areas of the image that you want to stay white. Then follow the sponge step from above. It looks really pretty if you use several complimentary colros!

Following what Sarah explained for the emboss resist technique, I've also used the white embossing powder. I like the effect it gives, especially to flowers.
