Default tissue paper envelope?

I think I read something a while back about envelopes you can make using tissue paper. Either the tissue paper was the liner or the envelope was actually made with tissue paper. Seems to me it involved ironing. Please help me if what I'm describing makes sense.

Thanks so much!

Would you be talking about ironing tissue paper to freezer paper and then treating it as one piece of paper and cutting out envelopes from that? You can use either the tissue paper side or the freezer paper side as the outside of the envelope. One hint, I crumple up the tissue paper first before ironing it to the shiny side of the freezer paper since I have never had any luck trying to get it ironed on smoothly. It sort of looks like handmade paper when you are done ironing.

Default Tissue paper envelopes

I recycle tissue paper from gifts as you need to crumple it up and smooth it out before ironing it onto the shiney side of freezer paper.
You can also recycle giftwrap...use spray adhesive( in a WELL ventilated area) and spray white or colored card stock and lay giftwrap overtop smooth out any air pockets. Trim to desired size, decorate/embellish as desired.
Have fun!

P.S. Use a mailing address label for addressing envelopes sent through the mail, as some paper is very "busy."

I've done this before. You wad up a sheet of tissue paper very tight. Then smooth it out somewhat, but not so it is really smooth. Lay it down on your ironing board. Now, cut out of freezer paper the shape that you want..... a card front... a tag... an envelope.... a heart.... a birdhouse. Any shape at all. Lay the shape, shiny side down, on the tissue paper. Iron it a bit and voila, the plastic part of the freezer paper is stuck to the tissue and you have this nice crinkly looking surface.
For envelopes (which I have not made) it would seem wisest to RE-CUT around your shape. For the other kinds of shapes (which I attach to cards) I usually prefer to TEAR the tissue leaving a bit of a rough edge sticking out.
