Tips for decorating a clock

Could someone give me some help on alter/decorating a clock face? I bought a $4 wall clock from Walmart today. I don't want to break it trying to get inside it. Any suggestions on how to remove the cover? Do I go in from the front or rear? And how? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks...
Peggy

I went in from the back(sounds so bad.....) I took off the plastic piece and then the paper cover and traced it and stamped on it and just put it back together. Took no time at all. Good luck.

I have used 4 different styles of clocks and have managed to get all the plastic covers off without damage. Had to use a tiny flat screwdriver to get the cover off of the ones that were flush with the edge. Just put the screwdriver in carefully between cover and edge at one of the spots where the plastic cover is held in place by a little tab. Just be gentle and you will get it apart. As for the hands, just pull up each hand gently, one by one. Good luck.
