tin cans

hi there,
I bought some tin cans at a grage sale last night. When I brought them home and measured them, they were 13" around.
My question is....how do u hide that extra inch that you need to add?
thanks

When I want to cover something that is larger than 12", (like empty paint cans) I use pretty wrapping paper, and then I make a template out of thick cardstock. Hope this helps.

You could use 2 equal sizes of paper so you get a seam on each side of the can to make it even.

I often buy empty gallon paint cans from Home Depot or Menards and these will not accomodate a 12" piece of paper for the diameter. What I'll do is put 2 pieces on with the seams going down the sides right by the handles. I'll try to decorate the front so that becomes the center of the attention and the seams go unnoticed.

If if is the heighth of the can that is the problem, try using a border or two. Recently I covered a paint can with a top & bottom border that complimented the middle of the can. Then I tied ribbons around the handle.

Good Luck!

I will get craft paper in white or brown depending on the look i want then use my stamp in up wheels on it!
