Tiles
Shannon,
I have been really wanting to do some of these tiles myself so I have been asking questions and reading tons. There was a previous discussion you can find here: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...pic.php?t=1118 And I also looked at the examples that others have posted and found that you can seal these with a spray called DEFT (Thanks Chill!!)- I found this at Walmart for around $4 a can it is a type of polyerathane. It says that you can use on ceramics. SO I am going to try it :D Just have to get some time to run to Lowes and pick up some tiles. All I have on hand is glossy tiles. ANYWAY I hope that helps Best of Luck and happy Stampin! Shelley |
Hey there
That info was perfect. Thanks so much Shannon |
Home Depot Tiles
I was just at our local Home Depot (Issaquah, WA) and they had the 4"x4" tiles in glazed glossy white and ivory on sale for $.10! Not sure if this is at all their stores or just this one. A great price for experimenting on! I've seen these stamped on with Staz-On and then colored in with Sharpies. You can also use them for message boards by writing on them with white-board/wipe-off pens.

help with coloring tiles
Hi girls, I just purchased 2X2 tiles from Lowes. I stamped my image with the stazon and it worked great. My problem is when I try to color in with the chalks I can barely see it. Will it get darker after I seal it? Any tips would soooo greatly be appreciated. Mea

I just did this last night for this first time. It is so fun! I thought the same thing about the chalks when I first used them on the tiles, I thought I would never see the color. But when I put the sealer on it, it just got darker so you can see the color really well. Hope this helps.

Speaking of the tiles and the Dry Erase Board....here is a link you should check out if you're interested in using the Sculpey Clay Stampin Up sells to make them. Cheryl Adams did this and Sculpey put her tutorial on their site. It's beautiful!!!

Stamping on Tiles
Hi ladies........I just joined. I was wondering that the best tiles are for stamping on. I am seeing alot of people using the glossy and some not. I was also wondering what type of sealer you use to seal these. I am looking to make up some for door prizes :D

I use the unglazed tiles. I wash them, and stamp with Staz On. I use SU's fabrico markers, and heat sets them on the oven for about 20 minutes on 350. NO SEALANT REQUIRED!! and they are fine as coasters-the tile absorbs the water.
