Default remind me about altered clipboards

Can you just apply pattern paper to a clip board or must you paint it first.
And when you adhere it - what do you use? modge podge? bottom then top?

I painted modge podge onto mine w/ a sponge brush, then added DP, then modge podged on top and smoothed out the wrinkles.

I painted mine first, than mod podge paper to it, than embellish.

hi - I make many for sale at craft fairs - I use modge podge first, just sponge brush it on, then...mist the back of the dp lightly before adhering it to the board, I also use a brayer after I hand smooth it well...check out 'michael's website' for a video on this - also, matte finish modge podge hides all kinds of tiny imperfections - I think I have one or two in my gallery, adding more this week as I finish them
PS - I also try not to have too many decorations (ribbon, etc.) on my boards as I want them to be functional...matte modge podge on top after stamping, etc. is done to make it more durable
