I did a search and came up w/ lots pictures of bookmarks but can't seem to find a tutorial on making a bookmark, is there one? Or am I just being very silly thinking it's complicated to make a bookmark?? Did everyone just used regular cardstocks with DSP to create bookmarks?
oh yes, i think i know what you are looking for. it folds over the page and has a magnet to hold in place right?!
um, not sure if theres a tut anywhere on it.
but yes, you could use cardstock and dsp. i would cut it the width you like, then double the length you want it to be, and score in the center, fold on score line and place the magnet on back.
for example, cut CS 2'' by10'' and score at 5'', fold on score line and add your magnet on back........

You aren't being silly - but yes, I think it is pretty easy to make bookmarks. At least I make easy ones, lol. Cardstock, pattern paper, and stamped images if you like. Then punch a hole in the top, add a ribbon or yarn tie. I wouldn't add too many "fat" embellishments, because they could damage the book pages.
Here are a couple I made last Valentine's Day. I sent them out in regular business size envies instead of cards. I think my cardstock was cut about 2" x 8", and the pattern paper was 1/8" smaller all around. But you can really make them any size you think looks right to fit inside a book. If the person mainly reads paperbacks, they might need to be a little shorter.
