Swirl background
Hi! I am new to this forum, and have recently become Stampin' Up obsessed!
:? I have noticed some cards in various galleries that have a swriled background, like those easter eggs you can do that are all swirly. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Thanks! |
I'm not sure which cards you are talking about in the gallery... but it could be the Shaving Cream technique used for a swirly background :D

Yes, it's the Shaving cream
Yes, Mary, it is the shaving cream technique, and I found some directions for how to achieve it. I read that you can use food coloring - is that true? Anyway, I love those swirled backgound papaers. Thanks.

Hello!! Yes, you can use food coloring if you want - or at least that's what I understand. I've only used reinkers and barbasol :D
I would love see your work when you try this technique!! Mary |
Ok, silly me
I will definitely post when I try it. I've been reading posts about the polished stone technique, and your reply, and always read the word "reinkers" as being pronounced "rain kers". I've never known what they were! Now, reading that word in context of this technique, I finally "got" what they are! It's so embarassing to have problems with your native language!

Food coloring...FACT (can be used)
Yes, you can use food coloring. That's what I used the first time I tried it. I like the colors better with the reinkers, but the food coloring worked just fine, too.
