Suggestions Needed!

Hi! I have a problem, when I use paper with the glitter on it, my adhesive does not work, do you have any suggestions?

Someone asked this recently, I recommended this product:
Tacky Glue , from Crafters Companion, USA.

I have done a lot with glitters. You can find great adhesives and double stick tape in sheets (can be used in die cut machines) at USArtQuest and Art Glitter has a devine selection of rich colored glitters and adhesive at Online Glitter Store | Wholesale Glitter | Ultrafine Glitter | Body Glitter

If you mean the glitter cardstock made by American Crafts, I've tried many adhesives that don't work but a tube glue called 6000E works for me. It's very inexpensive and available in hardware and hobby shops and some Michaels.

It's handy to have toothpicks or wooden skewers available to pierce the top each time you use it. I also use those to put a very thin thread of the glue on die-cut words or numbers I'm going to attach to cards. The same glue works for attaching heavier hardware, buttons, or charms, too.

It's very thick, clear and fast-drying,but difficult to get off your fingers, so you need to have everything ready so you can work fast once you open the tube.

Have fun,
Bahb

To attach cardstock to glitter paper, I use Glossy Accents by Ranger. You can find it at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. A few dots go a long way.

I think it also depends of the type of glitter paper you are using. Some brands seem to have the glitter "embedded" in the paper. Others have lots of glitter that kind of wants to flake off easily, and the regular adhesives don't hold.

I have a multi-color pack of glitter paper that I got on HSN that I love for the colors and the sparkle, but it does tend to shed more than some others I've used.

I recently had the same problem and my double-sided tape just wasn't strong enough and the glitter cardstock just fell off or slipped down. I tried Ranger Wonder Tape which is a doublesided tape but super-sticky and it works really well. It comes in different widths too which is handy. It looks red but once you peel the red layer off the sticky bit, it is clear. Hope this helps.

I gently scratch off the glitter in the areas where my adhesive is going to go and it works.
