SU! easter eggs with rub ons?
 

Has anyone had any luck getting the eggs a nice bright color? What's the trick? I tried last year and wasn't happy with them at all- in fact, they never even got the rub ons. I'd like to try them again this year, but would like them to actually turn out this time.
Any suggestions?

Last year we used the easter egg dye kit from Walmart that comes with the little cups and got nice bright colors, leave them in until you have the shade you want. I then used the Sale-a-bration rub ons and they came out great. Make sure the eggs are dry and at room temperature. I'll have to dig out my rub ons! Good luck!

I used the re-inkers!!!! TALK about bright! LOL!

Let egg dry completely! Then, use the rub-ons.

How much of the re-inker did you use? Did you just use water, or did you add vinegar too? I was hoping to use them, as I of course love the colors...

I made eggs last year using my Cool Carribbean reinker and vinegar. I didn't measure how much reinker I put in, I just kind of kept adding more until I liked the color. :)

Last year I did a basket of eggs for the center of the table for my hostess club. I did what Heather did, I put a little vinegar in the water when I boiled my eggs to make sure they were really clean, and put cold eggs in a glass dish and just poured reinker over them and kept turning the egg till it got to the color I wanted. Some colors took better than others, but I loved them and so did my club members.

I am definitely trying out the reinkers this year to dye our eggs!

Thanks Deena *blush*. I was going for strongly coloured eggs for my tree, but this easily could have been achieved had I left in the dye longer. I used hot water, 1 tsp vinegar and several drops of reinker (pixie pink, certainly celery, baja breeze and more mustard) for mine. Very fun!
