Stamping on Soap...HELP!

I pasted directions from an older post that gave directions for stamping on soap onto my desktop (sorry, I don't know who gave the directions...):

On tissue paper she stamped her image and heat imbossed it. Then she placed it on her soap and sprayed with a little water untill it adheared to the soap. That was it.
She even brought in a bar that had been used a lot, and the image, just kept getting more and more imbedded into the soap, although the color was much lighter than in the beginning,

I tried this...smearing ink is NO problem (I used both Classic Brown and StazOn). My problem is that the tissue piece does NOT stay on the soap. I even tried using toilet paper  to no avail.
All I can think is that I don't have the patience to let the soap dry before I touch it? In any case, I am now on a quest to make this work...

Any tips or suggestions? Help!
Thanks.... :D

I have heared that you use modge podge to get the tissuse to stick. you brush on one layer then lay the tissue down and let that dry then you brush on another coat and let that dry. then another coat and then the image should be fine. I juist got my modge podge yesterday and have not had a chance to play with it yet but I am sure this will work!!
Hope this helps at least a little!!

Thanks, Ally,
That makes much more sense....I was wondering if I shot it with a top coat of Krylon if that would work as well...
The water technique seemed too good to be true...however, if anyone has had success with that, do tell!
I want to do this for X-mas gifts, as well as have one in my guest bathroom at my holiday stampin' open house...

OK, instead of spraying with water try brushing the water on with a paint brush. First brush the soap and them brush over the tissue paper and most important let it dry. :D

Okay...one more thing to try....Has this worked for you?
I would love to demo this, but don't want a disaster...

This is how I do it! Take melted paraffin wax and brush a layer onto soap, place stamped tissue paper, brush another layer of wax on top. A little more work, but you can use the soap and the image stays good!

Thanks, Tari! I'll give that a try, too!

Ally, When I came back to check on this thread, I noticed you are in Gainesville. I went to UF a long, long time ago...Gainesville was so pretty, and boy did I have a great time! Don't you love living there? You actually have a little change of season, while I sit here on the hot SpaceCoast. (My friend's son went up there to live with his dad for his sr. yr. of h.s., so lucky her...she went up there quite a bit to see football games, etc. He graduated from P.K.Y. in June.)

Yes I liek it here!! We just actually moved into gainesville, we were living outside of gainesville but still working here. We found a place that we like so we made the move!! I like it but am a FSU grad so the locals don't usally take to kindly when I show a little school spirit!! I actually had a college kid call me a really bad name in wal-mart cause my son and I had on seminole shirts. and my son is 2!!! Oh well though!! I really love the kinda big city living here cause you go from the city, to about 15 mins from the city and you have trees all around you!! We have about 5 acers and I am still just like 20 mins from the mall!! I so love it!!
Hope things are going well there and everythign is all cleaned up I know ya'll got hit pretty hard there to!!

Yes, Ally, we are cleaned up pretty well in my part of the county...south county got hit HARD (Barefoot Bay...I know some of those disaster pics made nat'l news...)
Off the soap topic, but had to tell you that I cut hair in the Gainesville Mall (is that even still there?) before I started classes up there, and worked in the cosmetics dept. in Burdines in the Oaks Mall when it FIRST opened during my sr. yr. I remember them making us clean the cabinet corners with Q-tips  before the grand opening!
