Default Clear Flat Glass Marbles?

I am looking to buy those large flat-bottom clear glass marbles that you can make into magnets. Our local Walmart and Michaels's do not have them in the larger size. Does anyone know where I can order them from? Thanks, Carol

Any fountain or pond supply store has a huge selection. My local Craft Warehouse has them too. Just do a search, the internet is amazing.

Carol,
Here's a website that someone on scs posted not too long ago. I haven't bought anything from them yet, but I plan to. They have all sizes of flat marbles.

Hey Carol!

I have gotten mine from Joann's but the ones at the website mentioned above may be nicer. I am going to order from them next time. I make a large quantity of magnets as gifts and the ones from Joann's do have some bubbles and whatnot in them.

I got mine at the Dollar Tree. They only had the large and small ones, and I think the middle size ones are the ones I really want :?
Does anyone have exact measurements of the ones that have been shown in the gallery here at SCS?

The size I have samples of that I would like are 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 inches. There not perfectly round (more oval). Wow you guys have stores we don't have around her. The only store we have that has been mentioned so far is JoAnne's. We have a small one here but I might go to the bigger store that is about 25 minutes from here and look. Maybe I'll call them first. I'll have to dig mine out and measure them. Maybe mine are the right size after all!
Carol, if you can't find any, I would be happy to get you some at the Dollar Tree and send them to you. I was pretty excited to find them there. Michael's had a sale on theirs last week for 88 cents, but they only had the tiny ones left.
Good luck!

Default Glass Marbles

I'm sorry I didn't tell everyone sooner but I did find the marbles at the "Dollar Tree". I didn't know we had one of those stores around here and discovered that there was one in the town where I my daughter lives. I want to thank everyone for the help. Now I just have to find the time to make these. Thanks again, Carol

I purchased 3 - 1 lb bags from the Wholesalers website. The large are perfect size for pins and magnets. They were $1.19 per bag - good price, BUT shipping was a bit pricey. for my 3 bags it was $7.97 S&H. They are pretty good quality, not horribly flawed and they are clear - not irridescent. They are 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 inches AND they have a larger size called Jumbo. Haven't seen them in person yet. They also carry mosaic tiles - I like to make pins (tie tack) with those too. I'm getting a sample of their "stained glass" white tiles before I buy. Good luck and have fun!
