Default Expressionistic Watercolor Technique

Ladies, I saw a fantastic card here today using this technique and I really want to know how it is done. I don't know how to link the card to this question, but the card used two of the new SAB sets. It was beautiful and the colors were....wow. Can you help me pretty please??

Which set did it use and who was the artist? I'll go take a look and see if I can help you.

Is this the card you are talking about?

Well I see the newsletter info, but does anyone know how to do this and would like to share? Is it easy or a pretty complex technique?

Many of her subscribers - including me - prefer not to publish techniques from her newsletter, even though she has said that people can write them up themselves because she owns the copyright to her words, rather than the techniques themselves. They eventually make their way into the general body of stamping knowledge, but I don't feel right about posting instructions (even in my own words) so soon after the newsletter came out. Doesn't seem quite right somehow.

Check out her site! You'll love the beautiful card gallery & if you subscribe, you won't be disapponted!

Doris you will see the newsletter link, but here is the direct link to info from her site on how to subscribe

http://www.patstamps.com/Newsletter.html

Spammie is absolutely right-there are many SCS members who are also subscribers, so it is more fair to refer you to her site than write up directions that we got from her newsletter.

If you do a search here on technique junkies newsletter you will find many threads about that very topic. Check out the link and enjoy!

No problem....I understand completely. I was unaware that this was a privacy issue...I just thought it would be neat to discover a new technique.

I just started subscribing to Pat's newsletter recently. The subscription is nominal compared to the valuable techniques learned/explained in fabulous detail. Well worth it IMHO.

Thank you to fellow SCS'ers who recommended Pat's website a few months ago...I'd never have discovered her without you guys! She is awesome!!

Hi Doris,

I don't subscribe to this newsletter, but I remember a while back on DIY scrapbooking Shelley did a project using Roses in Winter. She stamped the image using ink on cardstock, then used a water bottle to spritz water all over it. It smeared a little and to me had an impressionist feel to it. I haven't tried it yet but plan to when I get Roses in Winter for Christmas and when my Paint Prints finally arrives.

hmmm ... I just tried to post, but I don't think it worked. If there is a double post, please excuse me!!

I just received my first copy of Pat Stamps newsletter -- it is fantastic!! I had waited so long to subscribe because of the great info here on SCS. But I tell you I am glad I finally sent in my subscription. I got so many new techniques that are just waaay cool! After I read the newsletter I went back and bought the old issues on CD.

Especially as a demo, I want the new techniques fast! So the newsletter is so worth it for me. And I'll continue to use SCS to post my cards and case everyone's great ideas. There isn't another gallery on the internet that even comes close to comparing to SCS.

BTW -- have you all been drooling over the DD gallery this month??

Susan

I subscribed to Pats technique junkies newsletter this past fall. It it awesome and you will be glad that you subscribed. It is well worth the nominal fee she charges for the whole year for all the awesome techniques, samples, and online bonus for subscribers only.

I promised my club members that we would start a technique book this year and am using the TJ for all my ideas. I could teach people for years and never run out of ideas. I also use to teach my downline that doesn't subscribe so they have new things to teach their customers. It is such an awesome resource!!

I also subscribe to Pat's Newsletter. If you like trying new techniques, this is the place to go. It is well worth the money and you can subscribe for as many issues as you want. Nice if you are on a budget.
