square cards
I see so many people posting square cards as opposed to the standard sized cards that I'm used to making. What size does everyone make these? And where do you usually find the envelopes for them? I've always thought it would be extra postage to mail them so I've kind of shyed away from them.
Thanks!:-D |
My square cards are usually 14.5cm square, I worked with this size because the envelopes I found were 15cm sq. But now the source where I was buying them have gone out of business. They were expensive any way 10 for around $6-$7. Here (Australia) the postage isn't dearer only if they were too bulky. I have now got a new stash of 40, after Christmas I went to the sales and bought boxes of 10 Christmas cards with envelopes marked down from $10 to $2.50. I donated the cards to the localop shop, envelopeless of course. These new ones are 16cm sq. So I will be watching each after Christmas sales from now on.

Square Envelopes
I like trying out different sizes of cards (squares are usually, for me, 5x5 or 5.5x5.5). I get my envelopes from clearbags.com. They have every size imaginable. They are also inexpensive when you order enough to get past the "small order" processing fee. Most of my envelopes come out to about 6-10 cents each.

Square cards do cost more, because of the automated mailing now. They may be 16 cents more, but I can't remember exactly. This is why I usually put them into a standard envelope.
SU! sells several sizes of square envelopes, so you can call your demo to order them. HTH, Mary A. |
