Spotlight

I saw a card that said it used the "spotlight" technique. Can anyone explain?

From what I know, and it isn't much, that is when you stamp an image in a single color. Then you stamp it again in black, punch or cut out a small section of it and color it. Next mat it put it over it's matching spot on the single color stamped image. You're "spotlighting" that part of the image. Sometimes I don't mat the colored part but you really draw attention to it with a tiny mat.

I'm scanning an example as we speak, so hopefully the image will be available soon. I'll edit this post with a link when it is.

Sorry I'm not great at verbal explanations...it's probably better to look at my example LOL.
