sponging ?

what do you pick up ink from to do sponging? Ink pads, reinkers??? sorry I put this in the wrong forum!!!

I use the ink pads. Just tap your sponge onto the ink pad, and then dab onto your paper.

Yep, me too, directly on the ink pad.

thanks I will try that I was hoping to use ink pads because I have not bought reinkers yet :D

I used my markers the other day because they were sitting in front of me. It worked fine. I also use my ink pads. Re-inkers leave too much ink on the paper IMO.

If you have a lot of sponging to do, use a stipple brush instead. Tap it onto the pad and dab it on the paper--same effect, easier on the hand.

I've also used markers applied them directly to the edge of a cosmetic wedge, then streak it across glossy paper. Overlap several colors for a spectacular starburst effect. Mask off an area with a sticky note and pull the wedge from the center out. Remove the note and you have a clean shape for greeting or embellishing. Technique is one of Dee Gruenig's.
