Spinner Card Help

Hi,
I made my first spinner card over the weekend but I think I messed up somehow.

When I originally cut my slot, the pennies didn't move so I cut the slot a little wider & now the pennies don't spin...they just slide all the way to the end of the card.

I'm wondering if maybe I am using the wrong size of dimensions. I have the larger size & the mini ones. Which ones should I be putting on my pennies?

TIA!

SU's dimensionals work the best for this card. I had no success with other dimensionals. SO first of all, make sure you use SUs. Then, what I do makes it simple.

I use the half inch circle punch and punch that at both ends of where I want my spinner groove. Then I line up my Fiskars cutter so that it will slice from the outside edge of one circle to the outside edge of the other and I cut. Then I do the same thing on the other edge and cut.

I have a perfect sized groove without having to use an Exacto knife and it has neat ends and it is the right size! So those are the two things I saw that you might be doing wrong for a perfect spinner every time! Hope this helps you!

Thanks so much.
I am not using the SU dimensions so I guess that will have to go on my next order from the Spring Mini. :)

I had the same problem with my first spinner card and assumed it was the dimensional. However, I think it was because my spinning object was completely round i.e. symmetrical. It needs to be asymmetrical to spin - otherwise just slides. I also found I needed to make the slot 3/8 inch - the 1/4 inch on Beate's directions was just too tight.

I'm working on spinner cards, myself, and I think my spinning element is simply too small. I think it doesn't have enough "heft" (if that's the right term) to spin. But there's also a chance that I didn't cut the slot in the card stock correctly.

These are the things we learn with practice, right?

The first one I made, the slot was too big, so I put quarters in it. It worked! (And it was for DH so it was very much worth the extra 48 cents...LOL!) My second one was just a hair to big, so I put a nickel on the back and a penny on the front. That seemed to work also. HTH!
