Default New leather technique

First off forgive me if someone else has already done this, but I have never seen it.
I have been wanting to try the crystal effects with tissue paper for a while, but don't have CE, so today I was looking through my drawers of odds and ends, and this big bottle of gel (for the one and only gel card I have made) kind of jumped out at me.
First I mixed a drop of reinker in the gel, then using an old paintbrush I pounced the gel all over a piece of card stock. Next I layed the tissue paper on and pounced some more (careful not to rip the tissue). Once it all dried I stamped on it.
I really liked the look of the end result, but think I ruined it with the finished card, so tried again with another piece. This time I wanted it to look more like leather, so used some ink pads and a sponge after the gelled tissue had dried (only have a few reinkers). I was more happy with this one, really wanted to keep it a simple card. Now more than ever want the french script BG stamp since it kind of looks like old parchment too.
Anyways, I have rambled on long enough, check out the cards, they may still be pending.

Both cards are great, wonderful idea. How did you adhere it to the card?

Great cards. I would also like to know how you adhered the paper to the card, thanks so much. [email protected]

Thank you for your encouragement. The tissue just stuck to the card stock because of the hair gel, and when it dried, it made it a little hard. Because the tissue is so thin, the gel just kind of soaked right through. I did pounce with the gelled up brush again after laying the tissue paper on, just more for added texture. I'm sure you could use other sticky substances too, I was thinking of trying just plain old white glue, but for now, the gel seems to work great, plus the added benefit of a nice smelling card.
