Default Gluing metal to glass?

What type of glue would you use to adhere a metal embellishment to a glass bottle? I would think that Crystal Lacquer (or equivalent) would work or a glue called (I THINK) 280? My sister tried using a glue called "glass and bead" made by E6000. She said after 2 days the thing just fell off. She won't tell me specifically what she is making because it's a gift for me. I guess that makes this request especially urgent! LOL

Thanks so much!

huh... I was going to say e6000 for the glue. But it isn't sticking? I think I'll still say E6000, but you need to make sure that both the surface of the glass and the metal are really clean- oils from your hand or dust will make it pop off- I always give it a quick pass with rubbing alcohol. oh- also put a little on the glass AND a little on the metal- wait a sec and then adhere together. A really thin coating should work fine, but you want to cover the sticking surface. She could also just have a really really old or bad tube... I've never had any problem and use the E6000 to glue metal findings to fused glass. They're worn as necklaces, and with constant wear they still last a long time (2 years and counting) but I did have a "bust" tube about a year ago- it just didn't stick for anything- I just took it back to the store for a refund She can always use the old standby super glue Hope this helps

Thanks, Ladies!

I'm not sure why her E6000 wasn't working. I asked her if she cleaned the surfaces with alcohol and she said she did. She tried again with "587" which is what I've used before for gluing glass to glass and so far so good. That's what I was trying to think of when I was saying "280". hahaha.

I'll definitely check out that website! I'm always looking for the right adhesive for odd things.

Thanks again!

Well, I don't know why I have a mental block on this but the glue is called "527" NOT "587" and NOT "280". I think I need a vacation!

Thanks again!
