Shrinky Dink

I'm looking for help with shrinky dinks. How do I color my image before I shrink it? I've just recently fallen in love with it... but am not sure how to color it. Do I have to sand it first?

Thanks all! I LOVE this site! I would spend all day here if I didn't have to work!

If you get the actual sheets that are made for the shrinky dinks maker you don't have to sand the sheet, as one side is already "rough" Most other polyshrink sheets you'll have to stand to get the image to "stay"

With the SU polyshrink, you have to lightly sand the sheet. After you can color with colored pencils, markers, sharpies, or pastels. After you shrink, you want to seal every thing except the sharpies. And with color, a little goes a long way. The color intensifies when you shrink it. HTH.

I've also been known to use sharpies to color mine...
