Default stamping on mugs

I'm not sure about the mugs, but I know that with tiles they have to be unglazed. Mugs are usually glazed when purchased in the store. What the solution would be, I don't know. If one is suggested I'd really like to know.

I've stamped on a coffee mug that I bought from Starbucks. They have a mug that comes with a special marker that after you decorate the mug with it (in this case, i used the marker to ink my stamp)...and bake it in the oven, it becomes permanent! I've misplaced the marker...or I'd be able to tell you exactly what brand of marker it is. I hope this is a BIT of help.

I just bought that mug from Starbucks and the marker that came with it is a Porcelaine150 marker. I would like to be able to find where I could buy some other ones in various colours as I am hoping to personalize the mug for a friend's baby shower in March!

I like this idea. Could you put some kind of spray sealer on the mug after stamping??

I still would not recommend machine washing it no matter how your decorate it.

Also make sure the embellishment is not where food would be touching it.

I bought some mugs at Dollar Tree. They may have been at Dollar Tree because they weren't glazed, but they were really "dull." I have only stamped one, but my husband has banged it around in his office for a couple of months. I used Staz-On and put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
I sprayed it with a little sealer. That's short-term, but the dull finish really made the stamping look good.

My TAC demo does this for gifts all the time. She stamps on regular glazed plates & cups and even glass glasses and wine glasses. She uses Staz-On and Glaze pens to add color to it. You can Hand-wash them only. You CANNOT put them in a dishwasher. The high heat and chemicals is what takes off the ink. Try it again.
