Default watercoloring

I am not sure if this has been posted lately (or ever) but it has been nagging me and driving me crazy....

I have a watercolor pen. I use it on my stamped images and they run. :( How do you guys get such gorgeous results from using your watercolor pens and inks without everything running together? What am I doing wrong?

I would appreciate any advice you can give me on this. I think the look is beautiful and I want to use it, but as I am doing it now -- YUK!!!

TIA!!

Are you stamping your image first with a waterproof ink (like Basic Black or Basic Brown)? If you try to watercolor with the other inks, your stamped image will run.

Or is it that your watercolors themselves are running together too much? In that case, you might try using a little less water.

HTH!

OHHHHHH... I was using the basic black but maybe I was using too much water...

So the watercolor pens won't work with the other color inks -- to stamp with, that is. I will run home after work and try it again.

Thanks so much.

Also...I appreciate your taking the time to let me know what I was doing wrong...it was driving me NUTZ!!!
