Default A little window with confetti/etc inside? How to do that?

Hey talented ladies!

I have an idea in my head that I would like to do, but not sure how to do it exactly, nor what it's called to search for directions. That's where you come in!

I'd like to make a small "window", and put confetti in it. In this case, I plan on making a fall card, and putting small leaves inside it, so they move around in the little window. I hope this is making sense. It'd hard to describe.

Does anyone know how to do this? I imagine you would want to use transparency paper, so you can see thru it, but then, do you use chip board so it raises off the paper enough so that the "confetti" can move around?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Take Care,

Gina

It's called a shaker card, and there's a tutorial for them in the Resources section. It's a guaranteed WOW -- it looks much harder than it is! Have fun, and I hope this helps!

Hi
Check in the resources section for "shaker card". It will tell you how to do it. I've also seen it done by using those rubber scraps that we cut off the rubber stamps (and can't seem to part with). You piece together a few scraps to make a border around the "shaken" part. Peel off the red rubber part, and the gray part is sticky on both sides. This will give you space between the cardstock pieces, plus it sticks to both surfaces. Good luck!

You can also search shaker cards in the gallery to get ideas.

You can also use little self adhesive shaker pouches like these and make your life a lot easier!

Here's a card I made using them.

Wonderful! Thanks so much for all your ideas! I knew my "genius idea" was already thought of lol. I figured I am behind the times. But thank you so much for the great ideas and I will check out the tutorial and the gallery hopefully tomorrow. I'm also glad I know now what they are called!

Katestamps716 LOVE that card! So fun! OK and where do you get those pouches? Any scrapbook store? I've never seen them before, although I have never actually looked.

Take care,

OOOO and tigerlily55, you're in Appleton? Have you been to that scrapbook store there, Scrapbook and Stamping Memories? There's one in Janesville and we go there quite a bit, as it is just 30 minutes from us and we don't have any scrapbook stores in Rockford anymore. Love that store!

Yeah, I love those little pocket pouches...they make shaker cards so easy.

Here is a card I recently made using on of these pouches.

Love it! I think I commented on your card already when I was searching last night. Where do you buy those ready made pouches? I've never looked.

Thanks so much for sharing!

I ordered some last night from the Stampin Up mini holiday catalog. How I missed them is beyond me! They're so fun. I've made a couple of shaker cards now and they are so fun and adorable, and a huge hit! I am so behind the times, aren't I?

I need to make a gallery just haven't yet.

Thanks!

The ones from SU! look like most people are putting candy in them. Don't you have to tear the card up to get to the candy, or is there a "trap door"?

My guess is that if you get them out, you have to ruin the card.

Oh, wow, awesome. I'll have to go check that out. What they don't think of!

Thanks! Me, if I got a card like that, would not take the candy out cuz it's too pretty lol. But I'm probably the only one like that so I'd like that slider idea for when I make them!
