"rolling" a torn edge?
 

I love the torn edges that I've seen that appear to have been rolled with the fingertips or something like that. I've been experimenting trying to do this myself and just haven't achieved the same result. An example of what I'm talking about is the Father's Day card on pg. 16 of the SU 2003/2004 catalog. Anyone have any ideas how this curled/rolled look is given to a torn edge?

I have done a couple of these and find that if you wet the edges of the paper and wet your fingers, then try curling it up in between your fingers - that seems to work for me.

I've also used an emery board to "distress" the edges after rolling, especially when I wanted a vintage or antique look.

Another way to make the edges turn up is to lay the cardstock flat on the table and use your fingernail to pull the cardstock toward you. That gives the aged, curled up edge on so many of the samples now. :)
