I have to demonstrate this for an upcoming SU Meeting, and I've looked at the samples and read the posts. My question is this: Is this mainly just a background technique, or can you stamp (either ON TOP OF or BELOW) with this technique? If so, how? Would you stamp first, then do the technique over it?
If you stamp on top, the ink will not stick to where the wax paper design transfered on and if you stamp underneath, the color you brayer over it may make the image either not clearly. I did a card for a stamp camp and had them do the wax paper technique as the background. We then stamped our image on vellum and tore it out. Then we attached it to the background so some of the background would still show. I hope this makes sence! :?
You definitely cannot stamp on the wax paper backgrounds because of the melted wax that's left behind. I have a couple cards in my gallery that have the background if you'd like to take a look.
Is this what you're trying to do? I did this one as embossing resist, but I imagine it could be done as wax resist as well. I stamped the circles first, stamped the heart and clear embossed, then brayered, then stamp the phrase last.
Wherever there is wax, the ink will not stick.
