Recipe cards??
I did a search but didn't find much i~~ how do you all type up recipe cards for swaps & such?? I have some recipes my mom copied from me & her writing is so hard to read ~~ I would love to type them instead. Do you have a special program for typing, say, a 4X6 card?? Or is there a setting when you go to print, that I probably have & never noticed??
I'd love to get into a swap eventually, too, but right now that's over my head. First I need to figure out the typing part, lol!! |
"I did a search but didn't find much i"
Where did that "i" come from?? Geez, I miss the edit button!!! |
I use the Labels option in word, there is one that is 3x5 IF you want to make it that size. This is good for all kinds of typing sayings etc. for scrapbook or cards. Hope this helps.

Hmmm....I wonder if that same option is in WordPerfect, as that's all my dinosaur computer has. Or Wordpad. I'll have to check ~~ thanks, Sue!!

In word Perfect, go to Labels under Format and choose your Avery card size. I use #5388 and it formats your page for that size. If you want to, you can then feed the Avery cards into your printer, and they will come out fine. I guess you could see if there is a larger size, 4 x 6", but I stick with the 3x5's since they fit into my little drawer next to the stove. I have rewritten nearly all my recipes to this format and my daughter can now read what is written rather than all the little notes that make the originals messy. AND the best part, if one gets lost of tossed, I have a permanent record in the computer.

Thank you so much!!! I'm so glad I'm not the only with good ole WP, lol!! I can't wait to try it!!

I've been using WordPerfect for over 20 years and the best way that has worked for me is to go to the Page setting and select the size of paper you'll be using. For instance I use 4 x 6, set it to protrait or landscape (your choice), set my margins at about .5, choose your text color and type your recipe. I feel that by using this method I only print out the number of recipes that I need with less waste.
