Default Help! Accordion Fold Flower or "Lolli"

I cant get this flower to stay together! I am following the instructions found at the link below. I have punched a circle from cardstock and COVERED it in glue dots, and I have tried adding brads. Still no luck!

Hot glue works, but I kept burning myself ;) - now I use the super sticky red liner tape and find it works well. Hope that helps!

I love this technique and have made lots of these flowers. Like you, I tried glue dots and different kinds of sticky liquid glue, none of which worked.

The best thing I found was my mini-glue gun. It worked perfectly. I used it on the bottom base circle, and the decorative circle on top. I didn't have a problem with burning myself, as I think the mini-guns don't get very hot - just enough to melt the glue.

Then I did use glue dots to adhere the flowers to cards.

I make mine with Tim Holtz's Rosette Dies and I use a glue gun. I squirt the glue on the circle and then flip it over onto the rosette.

I used Tombow Liquid to glue both the ends together and to glue the circle onto the flower and it's holding great. To make life easier I put a weight (one of my punches) on top so that I wouldn't have to sit and hold it for a minute or two.
