question on altering tins.........
Can you paint a tin? I've covered the front and back of a tin, but the side parts, where the handle and hinges are, I'd like to paint, how do I do that? Do I use spray paint? Does it need to be sanded first?
Please help!!!!! |

hmm.
im not really sure. i think if it is a glossy tin, the paint probably wont hold. ask at a diy store such as "Bunnings". I'm not sure what you have in the usa |
Thanks!! I'll do that, great idea!!!

I've painted lots of tins and metal lids. Usually spray paint works just fine, but if I'm in doubt I will scuff the surface first. And I always paint 2-3 coats. Good luck!

isn't enamel commonly used on metal? perhaps the paint job will wear better if you use enamel.

Thanks so much for you help!!! I'm off to buy spray paint!!!!

I usually spray paint my tins with the gray primer, then paint on them with acrylic paints.
