Default Suggestions for accenting dry embossing

Does anyone have suggestions for dressing up white, dry embossed cards? I found 8 5.5 x 5.5 cards for only 33 cents. I thought I would embellish them a little, maybe stamp a sentiment on them. My issue is since they are white, it's a little hard to see the detail of the embossed design. Other than chalking the entire face, is there anything I can do to make the embossing easier to see?

Thanks in advance,
Dawn

Anyone, anyone? Bueller? I guess I'm limited to chalking. Thanks anyway.

You could also try inking the embossed area, or adding the stickles that everyone has been raving about lately.

I bling everything. Can you put some rhinestones on some of the raised parts?

I personally like chalking a lot, as it seems a bit more "forgiving" than ink - especially since I have a white eraser that rubs out areas I do not want chalked. Can you just chalk the raised area - but maybe you meant the entire surface is embossed.

Thanks for all the responses. The entire face isn't embossed, just about the middle third is. One set just has "Happy Holidays" embossed. I'll give the suggestions a try. I bought 3 different sets. The 2 non-holiday sets can be customized to any occasion. BTW, they were at Mike's if anyone is interested. Thirty-three cents for 8 cards and envelopes isn't bad!

Thanks again.

I bought some of these too . . . since square cards take extra postage, I was thinking that I'd trim them down to 5.5 X 4.25 (standard A2 size), layer that 1.25 of extra embossed card onto a solid and layer that on the card, then add some sort of medallion in the center -- maybe a scalloped circle or square with a stamped image layered onto it.

This may not be what you have in mind, but I have used embossing paste with the brass stencils, and it looks lovely when you're done. Sometimes I sprinkle it with glitter while still wet, and it dries beautifully.

I have some metallic rub-on that looks nice on embossed paper. Not sure who makes it but it comes in a box that looks like watercolors. I use a cotton swab and apply like you would chalks.

Thanks again for the suggestions. The next time I go craft shopping, I'll look for the metallic powder.
