Pressure Embossing ???
I read somewhere that you can emboss your stamped images by using your stamps on your die cutter? Anyone out there doing this? I have the kind of die cutter that has a big flat board and the die rolls through...can it be done with this type? If so I will get it out of storage!

Erm....I know that there are embossing 'folders' for the CuttleBug. You lay your paper in there and just crank em through and it embosses the paper.

I looked around the internet a little, and it looks like the Wizard die cut machine will work with any regular brass stencils.
I also found this advice on another discussion list about dry embossing with the Sizzix machine: "Thought I'd share that with a bit more experimenting, I found that you can easily emboss with stencils- brass and or plastic. Just cut a piece of craft foam ( I had Darcies FunFoam), put it on your Sissix cutting pad. Put your paper, cardstock or vellum on top of the craft foam then your stencil, slide the cutting pad under the pressure plate. lower the lever. And you have a nicely imbossed image." Hope that helps. :) Linda |
Wow, thanks... I think that what I read had something to do with running your stamps thru and embossing that way... I am going to have to get that big 'ol machine out of storage and do some experimenting!

tech. with die cutter
I have used mine to emboss, this is the way I do mine I use the metal emboss die and put my paper I want to emboss together put them under my cutter jsut like I would if I were die cutting pull my leaver down and thats it it works great.I found another way to use my die cutter I had been looking for a cabin rubber stamp and could not find one that I really liked or they were to high so oneday I was fooling around with my dies and decided to see if it would cut the think foam with the sticky back on it and it did.So I put my sizzlits die name woodland set that had a cabin with it and put the die and my foam in it and it cut it out great!I was so happy then I cut 4 more out pulled the back off and it glued together so I layered it one on top of the other until I had it the thickness I wanted the I glued them on a old wood block. Now I do the dog or anything else I can buy a die for to make my own stamps.I hope this helps others to use there creativity.
