I have some beautiful rub-ons from BasicGrey but they are not a color I need nor do I think I would use really, is there anything I can do change their color, chalking, embossing, anything to give it a different appearance?

You could go over them with stickles or any other type of pen, marker. I usually dress up rub-ons by adding rhinestones or baubles of some sort to them. I don't know how you would change the color completely, but maybe just use them for tracing.
