Post it notes falling off
OK. I'm frustrated. I made the acryllic post it holder w/ a 4x6 frame. As I have it sitting on my desk, the post it keeps falling off. Well, i took it and ran a strip of adhesive and attached it that way. Stayed fine for a while then it started falling apart from other layers of the post it pad. Suggestions?
Thank you |
I just use a strong adhesive...either a glue stick or maybe my ATG 700 tape. Maybe you could just try another glue?

alternative solutions:
Use a hand-held drill (not motorized). They sell at scrapbook stores, online, for crafting projects. Drill two holes in the center of your post-it towards the top and thread a wide organdy ribbon through so that the ends poke out the front. Don't tie. A quick safeguard to prevent falling apart. If your post-its are old and the tacky is wearing out (or generic/cheapies), I'd recommend investing in a higher quality post-it (super sticky, for instance), esp. if these are gifts or workshop projects. Note: I use sticky strip for my acrylic frames and that seems to work very well. ATG gun might work too. Avoid SNAIL or regular adhesive (or even double-sided tape) for this type of 3D project. Thank you so much. I think the problem is my generic post it note. Next question then is if I adhere it too strongly to the acryllic, how will the recipient replace the post it note?

I had this problem with the set I made for my MIL. When I turned the post-it pad sideways, so instead of having the adhesive run horizontally across the top it ran vertically along one side, the problem was resolved.

I use the "super sticky" 3M post-it notes instead of the generic brands or even the regular ones by 3M. I haven't had any problems since switching.

I've made quite a few of these and have had no problems with the pad falling off. I used 3M Post Its. I think the generic brand you're using is probably the problem as they don't use enough "sticky" (in my experience anyway).
