Post It Note Purse

This is the template I used to make my post it note purse! (Thanks to my friend Katrina Merryman!) It holds post it note pads in the 2" by 3" size. If I turn it sideways and put it across the top of a sheet of paper I can fit 3 to a page. It's roughly 8" long and about 3 1/2" inches wide.

Thanks to Katrina Merryman and her awesome tutorial on PWA last year, I learned to burnish like the pros! ;0)

Super cute!! I will have to try this for a gift idea to the nice neighbor we have.

StampinStacy 06-30-2004 09:59 AM

Wow!! That's is gorgeous!!

Okay....I'm new to using microbeads. I'm assuming you stamp up your item that you're going to be microbeading and then you affix the beads (clear) over that? Is there a special kind of glue/tape that you use for your microbeads? Is there a sealant that you use afterwards that helps the beads to stay on?

Sorry is this has been asked or answered before. Thanks so much for sharing, and I'll be anxious to hear more about it.

O'So Sticky Tape is my adhesive of choice!

No problem Stampin Stacy! I don't mind answering a newbie's questions!

You have it right, yes, you stamp first! I use our O'So Sticky tape, it's super strong and thick - holds beads on tight with no other sealant necessary to keep them on! Just cut a piece of tape to cover your image, remove one liner, put the tape in place, remove the other liner and press into your micro beads! I used clear beads on this project (obviously!)

There are many tapes out there that are similar to ours (Terrifically Tacky and Redliner to name a couple) but our prices are better and our tape rolls are longer!! Beware that not ALL tapes are created equal! Amy's Magic tape is awesome stuff for gold leaf and glitter, but it isn't strong enough to hold beads on permanently!

Hope this helps to get you started on "Beading The World" with us!!

Cambria 06-30-2004 10:39 AM

This is where I get my mirco beads and tape! I LOVE them! She is super fast with delivery too! I give it a thumbs up!!

And, you are right, Queenpennywise...... they are O'So Addicting!!! I love the tape in the sheets because you can stamp on one side and then cut the image out. I've done this over and over with Fishy Friends and beaded them all up! O' So Much fun!!!

Thanks for the thumbs up Cambria!! We need all the help we can get Beading the World!!!

StampinStacy 06-30-2004 12:04 PM

Hey Cambria and/or Queenpennywise~

Which stamping sheets do you use of the ones on the Queenpennywise website? I'm DYING to try this!! I would love to use the tape that you can actually bead AND stamp on!

Too much fun! Ohhhhhhh nooooooo, I see another addiction in store for me - SHEESH!! LOLOLOL

queenpennywise 06-30-2004 03:32 PM

Stampin Stacy!

Yep! The Regular O'So Sticky Sheets have a kraft paper lining on one side, that you can stamp on to cut images out - and the other side is the typical rubbery "orange" or red liner. We also have a paper back tape - it has kraft paper on BOTH sides and will work in your punches too! EITHER one will work for this basic beading technique!! Go for it girlie!! And pass the chocolate!

TIA!

Just wondering what you use to keep your "purse" closed? Someone mentioned instructions but I am new to the board and was not sure where to look. Any help most appreciated!

You can use a little strip of velcro......that works great!

queenpennywise 07-09-2004 09:53 PM

Yep! Velcro is what I use -- they have cute little white velcro dots at our hardware store in town!

How do I download the template?

Hello,
I joined up today so that I could get the template--now I can't figure out how to download it! I see no button or anything, although I see a picture of it. Can you forgive my ignorance and help me out? Thanks!

queenpennywise 07-10-2004 07:34 AM

I am not very "literate" on this matter either! All I know is that I saved the picture to my hard drive (my putting my mouse over and right clicking and then click on save) and then opened the picture with my photo viewer and selected "Print to Specified Size".

Anything other than that, I don't have a clue!! It just works like magic over here! ;0)

To join the group go here:
