Default Polyshrink

Do you usually use the white polyshrink? My first thought was to buy clear because Shrinky-Dinks were clear, but the white is the only color that comes by itself. I wanted to use it for a stamp club project so I will need enough of the same thing. What do most of you use to color it in? I was guessing colored pencils because, again, that's how I remember coloring in my Smurf Shrinky-Dinks. Am I right in comparing this stuff to Shrinky-Dinks? I just earned the Watercolor Pencils from Great Rewards. Could I just use those like regular colored pencils?

Thanks.

I haven't used the watercolor pencils for this... I''m sure it would work though. I've used Colored Pencils, SU Markers, and Sharpies to color in images.

I've used the white shrink plastic only once and you can see that card in my gallery:

Hope that helps!!

I've only used the white and I color them in with the watercolor pencils. Make sure you stamp in Stazon. You can use our dye pads, but Stazon is better. I've also used the colored Sharpie markers to color them. I've also heard you can use our inks and markers to color them in, but it's best to seal them so the colors don't run or smear.

I was like WHAT? when I read your post. Last year Polyshrink came in packages of clear, translucent, assorted, and white. I had no clue it had changed this year. I guess it would be a testiment to the white! I have tried all the colors, even black ~ talk about disasterous color!! White does seem to be the best and pops better.

I have used the Stampin Write markers, colored pencils (not our watercolors, something more permanent) sharpies, and our pastels. The only thing I didn't bother to seal was the sharpies. I learned last year that the ink will wash off if it gets wet. My best results came this week when I used my pastel pencils. They are a softer pencil but more controlled (and not the Prismacolors ~ I promise, I will look up the name tonight ) I love them because they are soft and color up to the edge of the color.

And I didn't do Smurfs, but we did do shrinky dinks as a kid ~ Felix the Cat and some Looney Toons. Those were fun too.

I'm so sad. Clear was my favorite.

If you have any leftover black Polyshrink (which I think is fab), stamp ghosts with silver Encore. I did this and strung them across both a scrapbook page and a card. Too cute! Also, the black with gold or silver
Encore makes striking jewelry/ embellishments.

Default Polyshrink

I saw the most adorable bracelet today made with polyshrink. I asked the demo who made it how she did it and she said she used the white polyshrink, stamped with black Staz On and colored in with the pastels. She said used crystal effects on each one which made them look like class. They were so professional looking. I haven't tried this myself but I'm going to after seeing hers. Hope this helps. Carol
