Poly shrink- adding color
 

I am tring to color polyshrink with markers and I'm not having any luck, any suggestions.

I've used Sharpies and had good luck.

I've used Sharpies but didn't like the intensity of the color. Now I use SU Watercolor Pencils. You can color lightly for less color or really color it in for intense color.

Poly shrink tips
 

Many of the poly shrink artists tell you to lightly sand it first with 300 grit sandpaper. You can get the little sanding blocks in Walmart for under $5.
You can color your poly shrink with permanent markers (sharpies, fabrico, etc) or colored pencils or chalks. I usually stamp on it with Staz On inks. Keep in mind that even though the color looks flat before you heat and shrink it....it truly intensifies after you've done the heating and shrinking. If you're new to working with it.....keep an acrylic block handy to flatten your image once it is hot.

I always sand the poly shrink before using it, then always color in with the watercolor pencils, when you shrink the piece the color becomes even more vivid.

hey basurok, does putting the hot polyshrink under the acrylic block do anything to the block? I have one I use for cling mounted stamps and want to try to flattening but I don't want to have to go out and buy another block. also, can you just use anything heavy? thanks,

try chalks. The are light but the color intensifies when it shrinks! Love those pastels!!
